I Am The Night / Projects In The Jungle
Location / Date Studio recordings of earlier albums 1984 - 1985
Label  Reborn Classics - Released 1992 - RC1010
Time Unknown
Comments The front cover features the album cover of Pantera's "I Am The
Night". The back cover features a picture of the early Pantera
logo and has track listings for both "Projects In The Jungle" and
"I Am The Night". I rate this disc high due to the inclusion of 2
albums and the fact that the transfer from LP is great. This kicks.

Location / Date I Am The Night Studio Release 1985
Label  Unknown Label - Released 1993 - PA-02
Time Approx. 40 minutes
Comments This disc is features one of Pantera's early attempts when the were
still a bit glam although there are some great tracks on this album.
Front cover of this release features original LP artwork and back
features old Pantera logo , track listing in red and a small photo of
the LP insert. Based upon the look of the disc , I believe this was
pressed in Japan.

Comments From what may have been Terrence Lee's last show - New Year's
eve 1986.  The last 3 songs were from the Hot and Heavy Home

it rate highly.

Rock the World
Location / Date Dallas, Texas February 7, 1988
Label
Time 76:27
Comments This must have been shortly after Phil joined Pantera.  Some great rare
songs!!  Dime sings on PST88.  Sadly, this is ANOTHER flawed show
from the same guy that mastered the Metal Gods '89 show.  There are
ticks between each track.

The sound on this is rough, but it gets a high rating for being ULTRA
rare.

Metal Gods '89
Location / Date Unknown.   May 18 & 19, 1989 (maybe 20th?)
Label  Unknown
Time 65:57 & 46:16
Comments INCREDIBLE STUFF!!!  The first CD is the practice session with Kerry King.
The second CD is the entire show from May 19, 1989.  Due to lousy work
by its creator (thanks FUCKHEAD), there are tiny gaps/ticks between each
track.  He did a good job with the sound, but fucked up on the CD transfer
(between tracks). The sound is AWESOME!!!!

Disc1
Tracks 1-4 Jam with Diamond Darrell and Kerry King.
Tracks 5-16 Practice with all four members of Pantera, and Kerry King
Tracks 17-23 Judas Priest rehearsal, featuring all of Pantera and Kerry King

Disc 2
Show from May 19, 1989
Songs 7-10 from Disc 2 are with Kerry King.

Sound quality on the live show isn't like the practice session, but still very decent.
And with the rare old songs on it, definitely worthwhile!

Phil says something about "Saturday night", so maybe it's from May 20th?

Showdown
Location / Date Dallas Texas July 21, 1990
Label  Rocks - Released 1992 - 92092
Time Approx. 67 minutes
Comments This disc is one of my all time favorites since it featuires the earliest
Pantera show on CD that I've found. The sound quality is good
although could be better. The high marks given here are due to the
rare tracks played live on this disc. I have doubt as to the date of
the show. Cowboys From Hell was released mid 1990 and I doubt
the band was playing tracks from the upcoming LP 1 year in
advance. May be July 1990 ?? Cool front cover without booklet.
Back features track listing.

Power Metal Live
Location / Date Dallas, Texas - "The Basement" December, 1989
Label  Unknown
Time 47:42
Comments This is a great pre Cowboys from Hell show.  The first 5 tracks are
definitely from December, 1989, and include an early performance of
"The Art of Shredding".  I believe this may have been a radio
broadcast on Z-Rock, and they mention "Circus of Power" during the
show.  The sound is VERY good on this.  Along with Showdown, this
is an excellent show for the collectors of the older material to have.
There aren't many bootlegs from the Power Metal era available.

The show is also known as "Before We Were Cowboys", and artwork
for that is included on the artwork page available here.

Comments This is a short live CD that came with the "Driven Down Under Tour 1994 -
Souvenir Collection".  It supposedly is from the Foundations Forum, LA, 1990,
but the songs don't match what's on Vulgar Display of Power Metal.  GREAT
Quality sound.  Definitely soundboard.

Comments Nice sounding audience recording.  Very nice version of Message in Blood.
This one doesn't appear to be widely circulated.  It doesn't have a lot of bass
but sounds VERY nice.  This was from their club tour from before they
closed with Cowboys.  Definitely recommended!
