Metal Gods '89 | ||
Location / Date | Unknown. | May 18 & 19, 1989 (maybe 20th?) |
Label | Unknown | |
Time | 65:57 & 46:16 | |
Comments | INCREDIBLE STUFF!!! The first CD is the practice
session with Kerry King. The second CD is the entire show from May 19, 1989. Due to lousy work by its creator (thanks FUCKHEAD), there are tiny gaps/ticks between each track. He did a good job with the sound, but fucked up on the CD transfer (between tracks). The sound is AWESOME!!!! Disc1 Disc
2 Sound
quality on the live show isn't like the practice session, but still very
decent. Phil says something about "Saturday night", so maybe it's from May 20th? |

Location / Date | Dallas, Texas - "The Basement" | December, 1989 |
Label | Unknown | |
Time | 47:42 | |
Comments | This is a great pre Cowboys from Hell show. The first 5 tracks are definitely from December, 1989, and include an early performance of "The Art of Shredding". I believe this may have been a radio broadcast on Z-Rock, and they mention "Circus of Power" during the show. The sound is VERY good on this. Along with Showdown, this is an excellent show for the collectors of the older material to have. There aren't many bootlegs from the Power Metal era available. The show is also known as "Before We Were Cowboys", and

Location / Date | Foundation Forum, Los Angeles, 1990? | 1990? |
Label | Warner Music | |
Time | Approx 26 min | |
Comments | This is a short live CD that came with the "Driven Down Under Tour
1994 - Souvenir Collection". It supposedly is from the Foundations Forum, LA, 1990, but the songs don't match what's on Vulgar Display of Power Metal. GREAT Quality sound. Definitely soundboard. |

Comments | Nice sounding audience recording. Very nice version
of Message in Blood. This one doesn't appear to be widely circulated. It doesn't have a lot of bass but sounds VERY nice. This was from their club tour from before they closed with Cowboys. Definitely recommended! |

Comments | Rough sounding audience recording. This is another
show from their club tour. They play a bunch of rarities from the Cowboys from Hell album, and close with the CLASSIC "Over and Out" from the Power Metal album. |
